The Radio Job.

So, here's the big secret - revealed...

I applied for the position of Head Writer/Researcher for the Rover Morning Radio Show on WCKG.

I saw the job listing on CIN, posted by my friend Ed O'Rourke. I immediately started gathering the materials that the job listing requested, kickass letter of introduction, resume, and 10 writing samples. After a week of gathering materials and editing them, I submitted everything they requested, plus 7 additional writing samples, PLUS a headshot, PLUS all of my materials burned onto a CD ROM. And I messengered that over to them, the week before Xmas and now I am waiting.

It's January 5th today.

And assuming that nothing was done about filling this position over the holidays, they would just now be processing the applications and booking interviews or discarding materials. If I am going to get a call, it will happen soon.

Some things about the job will suck. For example, I think the work day would start at 4am for me. And end at 11am or so. Rough hours there.

And I would be writing materials for the whole cast, including their brain-dead, muscled lunkhead, Dieter. Dieter dissapointed me yesterday by announcing on air that he thinks that
not only is torture okay, but they should use MORE OF IT." I have to admit, I have no bits to forward that idea, other than to mock it. I couldn't disagree more. So, if I get the job, then I'll work with him, but I can't imagine how.

I am anxious to hear back from them.
I am excited to possibly work for them.

I am ready to work in the entertainment field.
I am ready to leave THIS job behind.

I am NOT ready to tell people about it, though. The last thing I want to do is notify people of jobs that I go after and whether I get them or not. I don't want to notofy people of the jobs that I go out for; but don't get. I'll likely announce something if I get the gig.

But if not, best to keep mymouth closed altogether.
